MWC 2024: Let's get ready to Ramblas (Again!)

  • Over 93,000 attendees are expected at MWC this year

  • The focus will largely be on AI

  • Millions of gallons of coffee will be supped

Join us as we step once again into the busiest mobile trade show on the planet!

Tomorrow most of us will arrive in what is sometimes called the most fun city in the world — Barcelona — for a grueling week of work interspersed with a few carafes of cheap vino tinto. Barca will, as ever, be looming presence during the next seven days with its imposing Gothic spires, twinned with playful post-modern architecture.

Walk with us as we tread with an estimated 95,000 attendees — according to the GSMA — into the wireless fray. We will be pacing the many halls of Fira de Barcelona Gran Via in search of the latest artifical intelligence (AI) trinket.

The PR funnel is already spewing out news from open 5G Application Programming Interfaces (API) to telco AI and Open Radio Access Network (RAN) to gossip about what really happened with that AT&T network outage on Thursday.

Analysts like AvidThink’s Roy Chua have already participated in MWC 2024 previews and are making their predictions.

TechInsights analysts such as Waseem Haider will be at MWC examining IoT — and probably the role that AI will have in controlling IoT supply chains in the near future.

neXT Curve’s Leonard Lee, meanwhile, is already producing videos about the mobile jamboree, well ahead of opening day.

And here's what your intrepid editorial team is expecting to see at the show: Top 10 things we can't wait to see at MWC in Barcelona

So, chug coffee like a fiend with us as we gainfully stride (or limp, depending on what day it is) around the city looking for our next meeting!

Welcome back to MWC! It's time to Ramblas.
