Arvani cited the customer wins at Symphony, including AT&T and Dish
The North American CEO of cloud native software company, Rakuten Symphony, Azita Arvani has abruptly left the company.
“I have made the difficult decision to part ways with Rakuten,” Arvani announced in a LinkedIn post.
This follows the surprise departure of Tarek Amin, CEO of both Rakuten Mobile and its Rakuten Symphony software subsidiary, in August ago citing family reasons.
Arvani said that her time with the mobile software started in February 2020, “when I was the first executive in the Americas,” she wrote. She noted that Symphony’s customers include AT&T, Dish, Telus and others.
There has already been an executive shake-up in the Rakuten Group following Amin’s departure. The firm announced that Rakuten Group CEO Mickey Mikitani will take over as Rakuten Symphony CEO. Mikitani will now also take on Arvani’s responsibilities as North American CEO. Sharad Sriwastawa is now acting president and director, assuming the roles and responsibilities previously held by former CEO Amin.
Arvani’s departure may be a sign of more upheaval to come for Rakuten.
