Cloud career moves and lifts and shifts - the pirate edition

There was plenty of executive movement in the cloud industry this week so we decided to upgrade your experience to something completely new and different — a pirate edition. Those executives lucky enough to make it through to our inbox not only get shout outs but they also get pirate hats.

Here’s this week’s news — Yarrr!

(Greg Orenstein. Art by Midjourney for Silverlinings)

nCino, Inc, appointed Greg Orenstein as chief financial officer, succeeding David Rudow. Orenstein has been at nCino since 2015. He doesn't appear to have any hobbies. We suggest golf and Rummikube.

(Clair Byrd, Sauce Labs, Art by Midjourney for Silverlinings)

Sauce Labs Inc, appointed Clair Byrd as chief marketing officer. Despite the name, Sauce Labs has nothing to do with sauce. Instead, it works in cloud testing. Byrd seems to offer up tickets and Michelin star restaurant reservations that she can't use anymore via Twitter.

Cloud career moves - the pirate edition
(Klaus Dimmler, Pax8, Art by Midjourney for Silverlinings)

Pax8, a cloud commerce marketplace, appointed Klaus Dimmler as chief science officer. Dimmler looks like he may enjoy skiing with those mountains in the background. Plus, he has a patent for A.C. power line surge protectors, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Cloud career moves - the pirate edition
(Marco Santos, GTF, Art by Midjourney for Silverlinings)

GFT named Marco Santos as its new CEO Americas. GFT guides banks, financial institutions, insurers and manufacturing companies in moving from legacy systems to the cloud. As for hobbies, we are stumped. Maybe cards?

Cloud career moves - the pirate edition

Forescout Technologies Inc., appointed Barry Mainz as CEO, effective immediately — as in right now. Mainz was formerly president of Wind River Systems (a division of Intel), and worked at Mercury Interactive, Makara (acquired by Red Hat, Inc.) and Sun Microsystems. As for Mainz's hobbies? We'd guess collecting cars and fine wine.

Ed. note: Arrrr! this took us a really long time to create so you had better appreciate the plunder of our toiling.

Ed. note #2: Midjourney manipulated the photos so they kind-of-sort-of-maybe look the like real person.
